Monar-Jonban (Shaking Minarets)
Monar Jonban (by Literally means shaking minarets) is one of the most famous historical monuments of Isfahan for its wonderful architecture .
This mysterious place is more than a masterpiece . What makes this building a wonder is High architectural knowledge of its architects that reflected in the structure of the minarets .
Whenever shaking strongly one of the 17-meter-long minaret , the other minaret start shaking by the same frequency .this is the most interesting part of this place . the shake is side to side for up to a 10 inches to each side . shaking can be felt in the whole building very slightly .
Also You can put the bowl of water over the tomb to see the vibration more touchable .
Before , Shaking was already done by visitors but now a day just special guard is allowed to climb up the stair in the minaret and shake the minaret .Visitors can just see shaking minarets from the bottom of the building .
According to the latest research that has been done about this phenomenon ,most probably reason for this atomatic vibaration is the “U-shape” structure of the building. There are also other points of view to this matter but the mystery is still unsolved.
