 
     
                                    
Afif-Abad Garden (Golshan Garden) with an area of about 127,000 square meters 
is one of the most beautiful historical Gardens in Fars Province, which current main building was built in 1863 by Mirza Ali Mohammad Khan Qavam. Its history dates back to Safavid dynasty.

Architecture
Afif Abad Garden has been known to be one of the oldest and the most beautiful 
gardens of this majestic city. 
The architecture of the garden is a mixture of Achaemenid, Sassanid, and Qajar 
eras. It includes a royal palace, museum of old weapons and a Persian garden, all 
open to the public.
The entrance part of the garden includes four plaster columns that its heads are 
inspired by columns of the Takht-e Jamshid or Persepolis complex.
 The building of the garden consists of two floors including about 30 rooms and 
halls. The basement has been changed to the military museum and there is a 
beautiful Water Fountain was built with variety of colored windows are shining 
from the west side.

On the first floor there are beautiful reception halls and rooms decorated with 
Paintings, which are worth seeing.
After visiting the first floor, it is time to get ready to go to the second floor to see 
the Museum of Lessons. You go up three steps and on the second floor you see a 
long corridor with many adjoining rooms. In the middle of this floor, there is a 
beautiful magnificent hall, the view of its wooden roof is very remarkable because 
it is decorated with patterns of flowers and plants, In the Museum of Lessons you 
can visit the living and conference rooms.
When to Visit Afif Abad Garden
Shiraz is beautiful in every season but the best season to travel to Shiraz is spring. The weather is really pleasant and the smell of orange blossoms is generously spread into the air. Visitors will have unforgettable memories of their trip to Shiraz in spring.
